Rights & Permissions
A simple explanation of what you must be allowed to submit and what Crestford may do with it.
1. The simple rule
Only send Crestford material you are allowed to send us. Owning a physical print does not necessarily mean you own every copyright or other right in the underlying photograph.
2. Your declaration
By submitting material, you confirm that you own the relevant rights, have permission from the relevant rights-holder, or otherwise have a lawful basis that allows Crestford to process and transform the material for your requested project.
3. People shown in photographs
Photographs and video of identifiable people can involve privacy and data-protection rights in addition to copyright. You are responsible for considering the rights and permissions needed for the intended use, particularly for private family images, children and living individuals.
4. What permission you give Crestford
You give Crestford a limited, non-exclusive permission to upload, copy, restore, enhance, colourise, animate, edit, generate from, store and deliver your submitted material only as reasonably necessary to complete the order, provide support and meet legal obligations.
5. No automatic publicity permission
Submitting a project does not automatically give Crestford permission to publish your private images or finished result in its showcase, advertising or social media. Any showcase permission should be obtained separately.
6. Reconstructed scenes
Where Crestford creates motion, expressions, colour, background detail or scenes that were not captured in the source material, those elements are creative reconstructions. They should not be presented as authentic original footage where they are not.
7. Refusal or removal
Crestford may refuse or stop processing where there is a credible rights complaint, legal risk, fraud concern or insufficient permission. If a rights-holder contacts Crestford with a substantiated complaint, relevant content may be restricted while the issue is reviewed.
